History

Water Tower/Tank

Annapolis Water District was formed in 1942 and has expanded over the decades. Karcher Creek Sewer District (formerly Kitsap County Sewer District #5) was formally created in 1947.

In November 2007, the voters elected to consolidate Annapolis Water District and Karcher Creek Sewer District to form West Sound Utility District. Both districts were organized as special purpose districts and continued to serve the unincorporated Port Orchard community. The consolidation resulted in one new district that provided water, wastewater collection, and wastewater treatment.
